As we plan for 2026, I’ve been thinking a lot about what really makes a supply chain resilient. It’s no longer about preparing for rare events. Today, resilience means being able to operate effectively in constant uncertainty.
Over the next few posts, I want to share the four focus areas I see consistently determine how well supply chains absorb shocks and recover.
Focus Area #1: End-to-End Visibility
Visibility is often framed as a technology upgrade, but in reality, it is a risk management capability.
Most supply chains already have massive amounts of data. The problem is not access: it’s fragmentation. Data sits across suppliers, logistics providers, internal systems, and third parties, rarely connected in a way that supports timely decisions.
True visibility is not about seeing everything in real time. It’s about understanding:
Where exposure exists
Which disruptions matter most
When intervention is required
Without this context, dashboards become reports rather than risk controls.
Organizations that mature their visibility move from passive monitoring to active risk sensing. They detect early signals, understand potential impact, and act before disruption escalates.
